Facebook Groups - a Powerful Marketing Tool

A Facebook Group is a page on Facebook created to enable a group of people to interact around a common topic, like a local community, sport, music or hobby. They can be either private or public. Facebook Groups are a powerful marketing tool, helping you attract new customers and engage current ones with exclusive content, community, and support. Owning or joining a Facebook Group for your business allows you to grow or engage with a close-knit community. It is a perfect place to market your business. Organic Facebook page post reach has declined significantly over the years. Nowadays, a good-performing post will only reach 4–5% of your followers organically. To get better results, you need to run paid promotions on your page. If you don’t have the budget to consistently run ads and boost posts, your Facebook page won’t be of much help.

With a Facebook group, things are vastly different. Each member will receive notifications each time you post (unless they decide to turn off notifications), and with a bit of luck they will share your content with their own friends and followers. Setting up your own business's Facebook Group can be useful for a wide array of purposes: promotion and providing information about your products or events, company updates and industry news, networking and customer support.

If you are not so keen on managing yet another digital platform, it can be useful to follow Facebook Groups where your potential customers might be spending a lot of time. Just navigate to the “Groups” button under “Explore” on your Newsfeed page and start following relevant and industry specific Facebook Groups. Some Facebook Groups often allow businesses to post on certain days only, but you can also reply to exisiting posts to create brand visibility and connect with potential customers (just be mindful not to overdo it and only provide helpful information). Benefits for your business of using Facebook Groups are plenty: 1. Improve Organic Reach

2. No signup fee (although it can be time consuming to manage and spend ongoing time)

3. Build brand loyalty and trust.

4. Collect consumer feedback. 5. Drive traffic to your website. 6. Establish yourself/your business as an influencer/industry expert. 7. Connect with your ideal customer.
